fathom.
A four channel, HD film installation by Adam Fung, using footage shot in the archipelago of Svlabard. This 2023 on-site research in the Arctic Circle was Fung's second expedition with the artist residency, the Arctic Circle, aboard the Barkentine sailing ship the Antigua.
The film can be installed in a variety of formats. In its initial iteration at the Arlington Museum of Art in March to June 2024- it was presented across 3 rooms, the first two rooms having a single screen, with two screens nested in the corner of the final room. The film also features a unique score by composer John Paul Thompson, using sounds recorded in the high Arctic while Fung was on the Antigua and ashore.
